The Sentinel e-Registration system was designed and developed by Radun Controls Ltd, who have been building electronic systems and components since 1963 through applied technology and engineering excellence.

In June 1995 Radun Controls became part of the Onyx Holdings Ltd group of companies. Having a parent company involved in other areas of electronic design and manufacture has been beneficial, both to Radun Controls and their customers, and has increased resources and technical support for further expansion.

The idea for the system was born from watching Tomorrows World fourteen years ago. It had two unrelated items about swipe cards and school truancy. Software and hardware engineers in Radun then created a fully networked system using RS485 protocols and cabling. The first system went live in a school in 1992 with MS-DOS software. Four years later the software was converted to a windows based system. That school is still a customer with over one hundred and fifty card readers in eleven buildings. The hardware and software are both designed, manufactured, installed, supported and maintained by us, delivering a proven, reliable one-stop complete service to education for 15 years. We continue to invest in research and development so we are now able to offer our customers a variety of options and new technologies.
